Central’s Christmas Eve offering for 2025 is dedicated to the 740 Rescue Kitchen.
The 740 Rescue Kitchen is a newer organization poised with two missions: that no good food should go to waste, and no one should go hungry. The 740 Rescue Kitchen’s mission is to fight food insecurity, reduce waste, and build a stronger, more connected community. The organization brings together volunteers, local partners, and generous supporters to ensure perfectly good food is put to good use—nourishing those who need it most. They network with food banks, grocers, food manufacturers, incubators, restaurants, and other organizations to rescue food and then have cooks prepare meals which are then packaged and delivered to families in need. Thus, the 740 Rescue Kitchen’s work is 3-fold:
Rescue: Collect surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, farms, and community donations.
Prepare: Volunteers turn these ingredients into fresh, healthy meals.
Distribute: Meals are delivered directly to individuals, families, shelters, and community centers.
Together, they’re working to build a hunger-free, waste-free future, and Central is proud to partner with them this Christmas season. You can also learn more about the 740 Rescue Kitchen here.
All money from this year’s Christmas Eve offering will go towards helping sustain the 740 Rescue Kitchen’s ability to gather local food from area agencies, grocers, and restaurants, then create and distribute meals for those in need.
